August Wedding Tips

This is where I select photos from a recent wedding and include tips with all of my favorite images. This was the wedding of Michael Mahler and Austin Kouvaris wed on June 23. Their ceremony was held at Historic St. Joesph's Catholic Church and the reception took place at The Epping Forest yacht Club.If it's possible, try to keep the area where you will be getting ready uncluttered, if you need to make a mess just keep it contained and away from your dress. It's especially important to have the dress hanging in an area that gets good light and where there isn't a lot of clutter.
Bridesmaids: you're there to support the bride, make sure she has fun and stays cool and calm this way the photos will come naturally and there will be lots of great candids! Thanks girls, you did a fabulous job!
The ceremony exit is one of my favorite photo opps! If time and location permits be sure to plan an exit, you don't even need bird seed just the bride, groom and a small number of guests!
Sunset is the best time for photos! Above is perfect example of the warm light right about 30 minutes before the sun sets and below is a great example of the cool and even light the occurs right before the sun sets. You will want to make sure you're outdoors for photos that hour before the sun goes down!
Unique details such as this ice sculpture adds to the reception ambiance and shows your personality!

Just because the sun has set doesn't mean you can't go outdoors for photos! Long exposures at night make great ending shots in your album and give a sense of place and ambiance.

Bridal Portrait Tips

Bridal Sessions are a wonderful opportunity to make sure that everything will be just as you imagine on the day of your wedding. You want to be sure you're happy with your flowers, makeup, your veil and accessories. The day of your hair and makeup trial is a perfect time for your bridal portrait. This bridal portrait was taken at the same location as her wedding reception; The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens.

Allison Loved her flowers and didn't change a thing!

The Makeup was almost perfect,
Allison ended up with slightly different shade of lipstick.

The Engagement Session

The Engagement Session

Joni and Josh chose to have their engagement session in St. Augustine where Josh proposed to Joni. We had so much fun just walking around the historic district and stopping at places that caught my eye. Engagement sessions are such a wonderful way for myself and a couple to get to know each other so that by the day of the wedding everyone is comfortable. Oh yeah, you also come away with some memorable photos and a good time. Believe it or not, even most of guys end up coming away from an engagement session saying, "hey that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I actually had fun! Now I know all you ladies can appreciate that!
